The factory trained team of service people at SMI Pacifica Pty. Ltd are dedicated to seeing that the SMI machine we supply is installed correctly, all of the products you want to run are tested and commissioned, your machine operators and maintenance people are trained and as a back up, we offer a Maintenance Agreement.
The machine and its parts will be delivered to your factory at an agreed time with our carriers. Our service technician will oversee the installation of the machine and ensure that it is placed correctly in your line according to the layout.
The sections of the machine will be assembled and levelled and the electrical and air services will be connected.
A thorough check of the machine is carried out from end to end and the software is run. Safety guarding is fitted and checked and the product transfers are completed. The inlet and discharge flow control sensors are positioned and checked. Typically an installation can be carried out over 2 days.
The commissioning is an important function and includes checking and testing the machine, the products and how they are fed into the machine and the packaging materials to be used.
To do this we require a constant supply of each product at normal line speed to be able to adjust and fine tune each section to suit the conditions and characteristics of the containers being handled. It is equally important to ensure that the packaging materials being used are of the correct specifications and size.
Our training program is designed to teach the machine operators, and mechanical and electrical technicians every aspect of the machine set up, running, cleaning and maintaining, safety and spare parts control.
Following the commissioning of the machine our technician will run an intensive theory training program for your staff . On completion of this they will be asked to carry out product changeovers, fault finding exercises, safety procedures and general knowledge of the workings of the machine. This normally runs for 5 to 8 days.
As a back up service and to ensure reliable trouble free running of SMI machines, we offer a Service Agreement that provides regular visits by our technicians. They can be for retraining, maintenance, product parameter changes, machine audits or rebuilds. We even check the stock of spare parts.
