To protect glass bottles and labels from scuffing and damage during transport, SMI has developed a unique automated system for inserting thin cardboard partitions between the bottles as they are being packed into wraparound cartons.

The unit can best be described as a robotic arm that lifts a pre-assembled partition from a magazine, opens it and places it vertically over the grouped pack of glass bottles. Speeds of up to 45 packs per minute are achievable.

It is easy to maintain and set up and is surprisingly affordable. It will suit wineries and bottlers who are looking for protection of their premium grade products especially when they are exporting or sending their goods over long distances.
